Next Steps...

  • Repeat the words of the first verse of "Amazing Grace" to yourself this week as a way to remind yourself that you are a wretch deserving condemanation because of your sin, but also reminding you that you've been saved because of God's amazing grace through Jesus Christ.

  • Memorize Romans 8:1, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..."
  • When you hear the condemning voice of the evil one, claim the truth by speaking Romans 8:1 out loud.

Next Steps
**Invite the Lord to help you desire the right things, like spending time with Him in prayer, reading His Word, asking for His guidance, and doing what He says.

**Make a list of common sins in your life, staring with sins of omission (things you should be doing but don't do), then sins of commission (things you shouldn't do but do). Confess all of them to the Lord and ask for His forgiveness.

**Look to Jesus daily - or even hourly. Delight in Him. Rest in Him. Receive grac and strength from Him. Worship and praise Him. And you will find your desire for sin decreasing and your interest in doing His will increasing.

**Take a step of faith outside your comfort zone. Initiate a spiritual conversation. Invite someone to come to church with you. Share your faith story. Share the good news of the gospel. Watch God work!

  • Do a moral inventory of your life to see if there are any habits or patterns of sin that influence or control you. Confess and repent of those things and take measures to ensure that you live every area of your life under the Lordship of Jesus.

  • Read and reflect on Psalm 63. Pray it as a prayer out loud to the Lord. 
  • Prayer a "surrender prayer" every morning, inviting the Lord Jesus to guide, control, and use you in ways that will bless others and give glory to Him.

Next steps...

  • Luke 10:2 says “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Luke 10:2, NLT) Pray this prayer daily, that God would raise up more people to help Him invite people into His family.

  • Give thanks for the diversity of God’s global family. Make an effort to get to know a believer who’s different from you and celebrate your shared faith in Jesus.
